The Fish Shop Camberley

Community Help Through Covid19


The Fish Shop Camberley opened their doors in December 2014, with the ambitions to supply fresh fish and seafood to Camberley and surrounding areas. From there owner Sue Lucas has gone from a staff of just three to a staff of nine. The Fish Shop Camberley chose to set up within Surrey Heath due to previous successes within the borough. The Fish Shop brings in customers from a large catchment area with customers driving up to 30 minutes away to pick up Fresh fish and seafood.



The Fish Shop Camberley fundraise money for Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen and match every customer donation made. Funds are also raised for Royal National Lifeboat Institution as suppliers from their supply chain, volunteer for the service, during lockdown a week’s profits was donated to the cause. The Fish Shop also offer raffle prizes to local fundraisers.



During the lockdown caused by Covid19 in order to continue to provide for their vulnerable customers The Fish Shop started a delivery services and employed a driver. Customers going to the shop dropped from 1000 a week to 600 however customers were buying more in bulk as well as making orders for those who were not able to access the shop. Staff where very resilient during the lockdown period despite the issues faced and where rewarded with a 50% pay rise.



The Fish Shop Camberley has recently expanded their premises to be able to provide for a high number of customers as well as diversify their selection by including deli meats and cheese.
